The classic VW Scirocco I (model years 1974–1981) did not come from the factory with a standard steel sliding sunroof.

• Steel pop-up roof: In the final year of Scirocco I production, a steel pop-up roof was available as an original option (estimated approx. 5,000 units); this roof could be raised via a crank handle or completely removed and stowed in a special bag in the trunk.
• Retrofits & accessories: Many Scirocco I models were later fitted with aftermarket pop-up or sliding roofs (e.g., glass tilt roofs from the aftermarket or custom conversions).
• Spare parts: We stock seals, handles, cranks, and mechanical components for classic VW roofs from this era (often identical or similar to those of the Golf Mk1).
• Due to high demand, a retrofit kit based on the Golf/Jetta Mk1 is currently in the planning or preparation stage.
