The new, aerodynamically efficient, and aesthetically designed AeroCatch® sets a new standard for panel fastening in the 21st century, offering a variety of solutions for sectors including motorsport, specialty vehicles, marine, transport, and the packaging industry.
The efficient locking mechanism, featuring a shear pin, was developed following extensive 3D computer modeling. Prototypes confirmed that it meets all high-performance requirements—including safety, functionality, ease of installation and operation, aesthetic appeal, and an optional secondary lock.
This groundbreaking project was carried out in collaboration with XAT, the industrial engineering department at the University of Exeter. XAT was also tasked with identifying a suitable material capable of withstanding extreme conditions. The result is a lightweight, glass-fiber-reinforced engineering thermoplastic that is robust, corrosion-resistant, and can be painted just like conventional materials.
