DIN 934 hexagon nuts are normal height counterparts to a screw or threaded bolt with an internal thread. Both together form a screw connection. Simply put: a hexagon nut only has an internal thread and no head of its own with a drive (exceptions are nuts with a hexagonal neck). They have a right-handed metric standard thread (M).
Application area of DIN 934 hexagon nuts
The applications for hexagon nuts are innumerable. Hexagon nuts are particularly frequently used in mechanical and plant engineering, electrical engineering, in home and handicrafts or as a hobby for vintage cars, motorcycles or cars.
Accessories for DIN 934 hexagon nuts
Hexagon nuts should ideally be secured with a washer or a screw lock. Due to the larger diameter of a washer (cf. DIN 9021 washers with 3 times the outside diameter), the force acting on the nut is better distributed over the carrier material and the nut does not press into the material.
