DIN 985 hexagon nuts with polyamide clamping part, low form are hexagon nuts with metric standard thread (M) and an additional locking feature to prevent accidental loosening. Lock nuts are also called stop nuts. These lock nuts have a polyamide clamping part (the color of the ring is usually blue, white or green). Unlike solid metal lock nuts, nuts with a polyamide clamping part are cheaper, but are less resistant to high temperatures. With small diameters, it is possible to unscrew them by hand until the plastic part takes effect. From M8, however, this is usually no longer possible - a socket wrench or a socket must be used.
