Application range of hexagon nuts

The applications for hexagon nuts are countless. Hexagon nuts are particularly often used in mechanical and plant engineering, electrical engineering, in home and handicrafts or as a hobby for vintage cars, motorcycles or cars.

Shape and material

Hexagon nuts are offered either in normal height (standard height) or as flat nuts. There is a choice of metric standard thread, FINE thread, LEFT-HAND thread (to secure screw connections against accidental loosening) or LEFT-HAND FINE thread. Materials are often stainless steel A2 or A4, bare steel or galvanized or yellow galvanized steel. The hexagon nuts are often also available in brass.

Selection of hexagon nuts, accessories

The hexagon nut DIN 934 is typical, but flat hexagon nuts DIN 439 Form B are also often ordered. Hexagon nuts should ideally be secured with a washer or a screw lock. Due to the larger diameter of a washer (cf. DIN 9021 washers with 3 times the outside diameter), the force acting on the nut is better distributed over the carrier material and the nut does not press into the material.
